Cuts & Abrasions

Cuts and abrasions are wounds that occur when the surface layer (epidermis) of the skin has been broken.  Knees, elbows, ankles and bony areas are more prone to abrasions.  Cuts are incised wounds that are caused by sharp objects such as glass or knives that slice the skin and can result in severe blood loss.  Any break in the skin is at risk for infection.  Bacterial infections in wounds can delay healing and if not addressed properly can lead to more serious, even life threatening complications.

AMERIGEL Hydrogel Wound Dressing is indicated for cuts and abrasions and provides a moist wound environment to promote wound healing.
