Tinea Pedis

Tinea Pedis is the medical term for Athlete’s Foot which is a fungal infection of the toes and feet. The most common symptoms are cracked, flaking, peeling, red, itchy skin between the toes. The infected skin starts as red, itchy spots between the toes and can form blisters, cracked oozing areas and spread to the bottom (sole) of the foot to the heel. If the fungus spreads to your nails, they will become discolored, thicken, brittle and crumble.

The fungus that causes Tinea pedis lives in warm, moist environments such as locker rooms, gyms, swimming pools, showers and even Nail Salons. Proper foot care and good hygiene are the best methods of preventing the spread of Athlete’s Foot. Keeping your feet dry or changing wet/sweaty socks is important so the fungus has no place to live. Make sure if your shoes get wet that you allow them enough time to dry out in the sunshine for a couple days.

AMERIGEL Care Lotion is safe to apply between the toes which is ideal for people with diabetes.  Apply it all over your feet, including the top, bottom, sides and heels twice a day.

Hydrate your skin daily with AMERIGEL Care Lotion.
